Dunlap I Team

Dr. Kiera Dunaway

Dr. Dunaway is a Peoria native who wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Trinity Christian College in 2014. Dr. Dunaway attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical year at the University of Illinois. After a year working in Decatur, she moved home and joined the Peoria Area Veterinary Group in 2020. Her areas of interest include cardiology, soft tissue surgery, and clinical pathology.

In her free time, Dr. Dunaway enjoys reading, crafting, baking, taking long walks with her labrador, Niamh, and snuggling with her cat, Alexa.

Kristin Bart

Boarding Coordinator

Kristin is a native Peorian and all of her childhood pets were even Dunlap patients. She graduated from Eureka College with a degree in Sociology and Psychology and her interest in people remained over the years as she developed a love for dogs and a strong interest in animal behavior. In her free time, you might find Kristin spending time with family and friends, watching football, bird watching, reading a good book, gardening or just catching up on her favorite shows. Kristin shares her life with two Maltipoos named Bunker and Mulligan.

Erin White

Veterinary Assistant
Erin White was raised in Naperville before moving to Central Illinois nine years ago after marrying her husband. Ever since she was a kid, she always loved animals—this led to her earning her bachelor’s degree in animal science from Western Illinois.

Erin currently lives with three French Bulldogs, who have all been adopted from the Chicago French Bulldog rescue. When Erin is not at work, she loves baking, cooking, gardening and zooming around on her husband’s motorcycle.

Melissa Richards

Veterinary Assistant
Melissa Richards remembers always driving by the Dunlap clinic growing up and thinking to herself that she would one day work here. Well in 2014, an opening came up for a kennel assistant, and we hired her—since then she has also worked here as a boarding coordinator and a receptionist, and now she is one of our amazing veterinary assistants!

Melissa is the proud new owner of a two-year old doggie named Midnight, who loves to swim and also loves to give wet, sloppy kisses! Midnight is a sweetheart who loves all people and all other animals. When Melissa isn’t working or at school, she enjoys relaxing at home and hanging out with all the humans and pets that she cares about.
